Make a Splash With a Mermaid-themed Picnic Party
Mermaids: sparkly, dazzling, fun, carefree, beautiful, colourful, and oh-so magical. They capture the imaginations of children and adults alike with their spectacular tails and even more intriguing tales.
These are just some of the things we had in mind while planning our underwater wonderland birthday party for the lovely Havanna. From start to finish, we had tonnes of fun brainstorming ideas and crafting decorations fit for a birthday girl queen’s ultimate outdoor picnic party!
How did we do it? Our Picnic Party Set up Secrets are as Follows …
First of all, we set about setting the scene. With our underwater wonderland palette at the ready – we had some choices to make. Of course, we used the very oceanic Teal to paint our background boards, alongside vinyl for a personal touch.
Can you Party with all of the Colours of the Sea?
Shades of sea-water cyan, purples, and coral pinks next, as we moved on to crafting the bubbly balloon garlands. Bubbly? But of course! We wanted our balloons to mimic the fizzing, swirling, and zig-zagging bubbles that rise from ocean floor to surface, passing mermaids along the way. So, we framed our background boards using adorable balloons of varying sizes and colours, to create the illusion of underwater bubblings.
We were helped by our balloons double stuffed design. In other words, we can use one balloon inside another, opening the door to an endless range of colours and sizes – ideal! Following in the color theme are our oh-so-comfy pillows that are the perfect cutesy addition to any kid’s outdoor picnic part.
A Beautiful Picnic Table Spread Fit for a Mermaid Princess
Atop that table, we find a spread of pretty-as-a-picture and right-on-theme table wear, kindly supplied by our sister company, Muddy Boots Home. Unmissable as the centrepiece, the gorgeous birthday cake was created by the amazing @aimee__bakes. The floral arrangements were also designed to match the overall theme, with flowy pampas grass mimicking the sway of seaweed while white flowers added a touch of airiness, almost cloud-like in their beauty!
Outdoor Picnic Party Candy Cart with a Personal Twist
A playful picnic birthday party is thirsty and hungry work! So, this time, as part of the requested picnic package, we rolled in our charming customisable sweet cart along! As well we couldn’t help but design a personalized sign for the sweet cart in celebration of Havanna’s special day! Our signs are such a lovely touch that can also be crafted as a tailor-made gift for party attendees to remember the special day by!
We also designed the birthday cotton party bags. With a cute pink seahorse and silk bow drawstring – we almost took one home for ourselves!
